Greens

After our class last night, my hny & I decided that we're getting too fat eating food laden with grease. And so after contemplating how far our money would take us, we took off for Greens. As the name implies, Greens is a vegan restaurant located at Scout Castor in front of a nice looking Max's restaurant. The resto has some tables and chairs outside for diners who prefer dining al fresco. Inside, you'll be greeted with green and purple walls complemented with purple ceiling, lots of mirrors create the illusion of space. For private conversations, one can request for the table tucked at the corner. The homey ambience of Greens reminds you of your mom's kitchen with a smattering of bric-a-bracs.
Last night, we got to attend their Vegetarian fair, the dishes are laid on a big table and the diners order their food a la turo-turo. We had Spinach lasagna, pasciatti, calzone and four servings of vegetarian barbecue skewered isaw style, for desert we sampled their rhum cake(?) with pecan toppings. I decided I had too much when I can't finish off the glorious cake much to my chagrin. So hny had the last bite.
Verdict: We're definitely coming back to sample their full meals. For such healthy and appetizing dinner, we spent P520.

Lazy Saturday once again, our original plan of scouting Bambang for a sphygmomanometer ("yung pangkuha po ng bp" I told the saleslady at Mercury, and I earned one kamote point for that!), was scrapped out. So instead, we thought of drinking mule and mudshake while watching anime. What a fine idea to spend the day.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t start bawling for being a soon-to-be-left out from the Jamaican trip that my hny’s probably going to have.

I don’t know where and to whom should I start begging in order to raise $3000!! Yes, dahling, that’s how much a round-trip ticket costs from Manila to Montego Bay, Jamaica. P55, 000 multiplied three times, P165, 000. If I have this amount now, I’ll invest it na lang noh or perhaps go to somewhere cheaper like Hong Kong and save the rest.

I told my hny I just want some sand. Some meaning it can fill the room, para kahit nasa bahay ako ang inaapakan ko ay buhangin ng Jamaica, malufet!

Hny you should really allow me to go out while you're away. I don't wanna sulk for one week while you're having a feast looking on women parading their "wares" haha

Omedetou Joco for winning a Jamaican trip for two and 2,000 pounds!!

For sure Dô can't wait to get invited. Imagine going to the land where Bob Marley is considered a demigod. And cannabis is included in your regular meals haha

And I was already planning to invite myself in and pay for my travel expenses. But here comes the supreme BURN.. Joco is already 18 and he doesn't need a guardian to be with him, so he's inviting his team member from another country to join him. Gone are my chances of 7-day partying and sun-worshipping at the Sunset Beach.. hehe kainis dream on!

Addict

noun,
1.To cause to become physiologically or psychologically dependent on a habit-forming substance
2. To occupy (oneself) with or involve (oneself) in something habitually or compulsively
3. Me

For some hours (and days) now, I’ve been busy doing nothing. I don’t read any book; I rarely watch TV, I even cringe on gatherings and social visits. I am not motivated to work or to study. I even fail to visit my blog every day like I used to. I stay at my cubicle for eight hours, getting up just to pee and answer my hny’s calls. I eat my packed lunch there, while staring at the little butterflies flirting outside my window. My brain seems to have gotten tired from twenty-three years of non-stop processing and it suddenly decided to stop. I am slowly degenerating: from Homo Sapiens to Aus. Africanus to a speckle of dust.

I can’t even keep my head upright, it hangs limply at the right.

This ethereal feeling of immense boredom and lightheadedness (aka cerebral malfunction) are results of my current addiction. I am slowly being drawn back into the black hole, which I have painfully struggled to get out from. While I am at it, I cannot talk to anyone (somehow I can manage monosyllables) and I sleep at 4 am. Then I wear shades the morning after to hide raccoon eyes. While I was walking this morning, I can’t feel my knees and my hands are trembling.

Before it was Ragnarok, now it’s Sim City 3000.

I badly need help. Get me the Sims Urban Renewal Kit.

(FYI, this is so Jurassic, gamers are drooling on the Sims 2 now.)

Gateway facade daytime

The colorful G sign at night

Gateway minidome

Watched Ocean's Twelve last night at the Gateway Mall. I'm sending a thousand kudos to the brains behind Araneta' Center's redevelopment. I've been dreaming of a complete mall that's just a stone's throw away from our house, and Ayala Corp. has been listening! And so the big bosses poured in a whopping P2 billion pesos for the construction of Gateway mall and the sprucing up of adjacent buildings. Now, Cubao denizens will get to enjoy a luxurious cineplex with La-Z boy couches and a personal concierge. Where on earth can you find that?!! (Well, there must be some place already offering that, but ignorance is bliss hehe)

They're sellin sumthin here, just can't remember what

Unfortunately Cinema 10 is still under construction, so we watched at Cinema 6. We queued early to get prime seats, I found out later that we don't have to do that coz there's a lot of vacant seats. That's one good thing when opting for the last full show: less people, you get to snag good seats.

Enjoyed the movie thoroughly, but I know a lot of people that night didn't. The crowd was okay, not snobbish like the Galleria moviegoers. But for goodness' sake they don't have a coffee shop at that level! Coffee addicts have to go down and buy at Starbucks, at the Coffee Bean&Tea Leaf, or farther, at Gloria Jeans. Me, I just want a large Mocha Granita from Coffee Experience. Around the cineplex, a lot of shops offer a variety of snacks to occupy your time while waiting for the next movie. There's Istanbul Express (shawarma), the NYFD (New York Fries and Dips which offers, whatelse? handcut fries), Dimsum n Dumplings ( i so loooove their strawberry milk tea!), a Candy Store, and some other shops which I failed to see coz I'm soo sleepy. The waiting space also has comfortably upholstered sofa which offers superb lounging experience. But you have to be early and fast to get those much coveted seats.

The Lounge with sloths hehe

Movies to Watch: Meet the Fockers, Lemony Snickets' A series of Unfortunate Events (despite the bad reviews), and Elektra maybe

"I do think New Year's resolutions can't technically be expected to begin on New Year's Day, don't you? Since, because it's an extension of New Year's Eve, smokers are already on a smoking roll and cannot be expected to stop abruptly on the stroke of midnight with so much nicotine in the system. Also dieting on New Year's Day isn't a good idea as you can't eat rationally but really need to be free to consume whatever is necessary, moment by moment, in order to ease your hangover. I think it would be much more sensible if resolutions began generally on January the second." ~Helen Fielding, Bridget Jones's Diary http://www.quotegarden.com/new-year.html
